FAQ'S
The battery life indicator will flash red when it’s time to replace your battery. If you continue to use your Roomba with a low or empty battery, you may damage your battery and void its warranty.
Your HEPA filter should be replaced every 3 months or sooner if it becomes damaged or clogged. You can check your filter by removing it from your Roomba and shaking it out. If you see visible debris, you should replace the filter.
Your brushroll can be removed by pressing the release button on the back of your Roomba and pulling it off. Use a soft brush to remove dirt from the rollers and then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Allow to dry before replacing brushroll on Roomba.
To reset your Roomba, press and hold the CLEAN button for 5 seconds until you hear two consecutive beeps. Your Roomba will now beep once every 30 seconds while it charges and then will resume normal operation once fully charged. This behavior will continue until you press CLEAN again or power cycle your Roomba (by unplugging it).
It takes longer for your robot vacuum to charge than most other robot vacuums because of its advanced features, such as iAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology™, which allows it to clean more efficiently by adapting to different floor surfaces, and its AeroForce™ Filters, which capture 99% of dust and allergens in the air as small as 0.3 microns.
Otherwise, the j7 devices are higher-end Roombas, so they have features like dual multi-surface rubber brushes and Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets you control which rooms the robot cleans. The biggest difference between the j7 and the j7+ is the inclusion of the clean base on the latter.
Launched in September 2021, the iRobot Roomba j7+ is designed to seamlessly blend with its surroundings. This is the first iRobot vacuum cleaner to use PrecisionVision Navigation, a cutting-edge technology that allows it to detect and avoid pet waste, charging cables, and other obstacles around the house.
Article Details. Roomba® uses light touch bumper technology to identify walls and other obstacles. This technology allows your robot to slow down and gently touch the obstacle with its bumper before changing direction.
It doesn’t avoid liquid messes
If your pet makes a mess whenever he drinks water, pees on the floor or happens to have a bit of a runnier accident, the Roomba j7+ probably won’t avoid that. “One ‘obstacle’ it did not detect was water left on the floor by Moose after he drank from his bowls.
The iRobot Roomba j7+ was tested between the family room, entryway and kitchen with hardwood floors and area rugs. Covering an area of about 500 sq ft., it represented the largest area in the home that could be vacuumed on the same map.
You don’t need WiFi to use the Roomba. You only need WiFi if you want to connect it to your phone or another device like Alexa.
